I have been interested in technology my entire life, that is why I became a computer systems Engineer! There are many areas of technology that are fascinating and right now the thing that I am most excited about is Blockchain. Decentralized and secure such as Bitcoin, will change the world. Since 2017 I dove deep into the world of Bitcoin and money in general. Bitcoin is going to do amazing things and I want to help others begin to understand it. This short video by Jeff Booth may be good starting point.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The field of AI is also very fascinating and is advancing at an exponential rate. I am concerned that too many people are rushing this and not thinking of the potential consequences. Once a machine becomes smarter then a human, there is no going back! I am excited that my brother Alex Vermeer is putting his energy into this through his work at the Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI) in California.

The Bitcoin Standard
This is a great book by Saifednean Ammous. It does a great job of explaining Bitcoin and the concept of decentralized finance. It also is a fantastic resource for learning more about this history of money in general. That which we now call "fiat" currency.
